Revolt--Israel Style

Likud leaders accuse Benyamin Netanyahu of pulling a fast one. They say he promised Avigdor Leiberman control over the Justice Ministry to keep him happy, and also to keep the controversial Daniel Freidman from the post. His plan, Israel News Radio reports, is "to leave the door open to the Labor Party joining the government in the future."
Netanyahu and Likud MK Silvan Shalom are feuding over Shalom's next job. Shalom, who has several allies in his camp, expected to become Foreign Minister. Netanyahu promised that job to Lieberman, and Shalom is revolting. Today, Ma'ariv provided Netanyahu's response: "Silvan won't get a prize for his behavior, and at this rate, he won't get any portfolio. He's only hurting himself."
Ma'ariv:
At another opportunity yesterday Netanyahu threatened that he would throw Silvan out of the government that he forms. "What's he doing?
He'll vote no-confidence in the government, let's see him," Netanyahu taunted.
