A Video Raises Disturbing Questions About American Jewish Kids In Israel
I hate to recommend watching this video. But I will. Hundreds of thousands have watched it already. Soon it will have millions of viewers. And, as the adage goes, it's not "good for the Jews."
In it, Max Blumenthal interviews a bunch of Jewish students visiting Israel about the Obama Cairo speech. It's appalling stuff. Drunk, stupid, racists who sound like the toothless yokels in West Virginia who were filmed talking about Obama during the primaries. It's painful to watch.
But no more painful than the vitriolic hate campaign against Barack Obama in this country which emanates not just from drunks but from a former Vice President, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, and the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, to name a few.
There is hate everywhere. And there are plenty of Israeli racists. But that is not who these people are. These kids are American Jews visiting Israel. And, like all but ultra-Orthodox American Jews, they are totally American. They are full of fratboy American swagga, even using hip hop inflections to spew racist hate. And they are drunk.
Simply put, they are not Israelis. And viewing them as representative of Israelis is like filming American kids studying in Berlin, asking them about the Holocaust, and using their reactions as saying something about Germany.
The video does say something about the kind of trips Jewish organizations are promoting. Maybe these kids came on their own. But if they were sponsored by any pro-Israel organization, it better consider what it is doing. After all, these kids are under age and someone is responsible. We need to know if any pro-Israel or Jewish organization's "education" program is producing such utter vileness.

You're entitled to your opinion, but.....
It's quite apparent that you have rarely or perhaps never watched O'Reilly or Glenn Beck. They are both critical of Obama's policies, but do not badmouth him in any sense of the word. O'Reilly and Beck are entitled to their opinions, which are no doubt a result of their analyses of Mr. Obama's policies and positions.
For that matter, Dick Cheney has never, never spewed any "hate speech" against Barack Obama, either. He is very critical of Obama's policies, but has never called Obama names or made negative statements based on opinion in the absense of fact. Mr. Cheney is articulate and bases his arguments on his inside knowledge from the Bush administration.
The Jewish Americans and perhaps some Israelis interviewed in the Blumenthal "film" do not represent a large enough cross section of the American or Israeli population to be meaningful. Besides, most of them were indeed drunk. Basing an opinion of Israeli society or American Jewish youth on this film is just as stupid as the film itself.
