Since its founding, Israel has been a haven for millions of Jews fleeing oppression from Arab countries in the Middle East where they were no longer welcome after years of living there, from the former Soviet Union and from other parts of the world where they felt unsafe

IPF Chairman Peter Joseph is quoted in an article by JTA about Jewish U.S. voters concern over the upcoming Israeli elections.

When Palestinians murdered worshipers in a west Jerusalem synagogue at morning services on Nov. 18, one of the first Israeli policemen on the scene was Zidan Saif, a member of the minority Druse religious community. He played a key role in stopping the assault and was murdered as he did so. The entire nation took note of his sacrifice. Israelis, among them many ultra-Orthodox and President Reuven Rivlin, turned out in droves for his funeral as a sign of respect and gratitude. Now the Israeli Knesset is poised to consider a bill which would demean this man’s standing as an Israeli citizen.

At this dark time, it is imperative that those who work to seek a secure future for Israel as the democratic nation-state of the Jewish people not lose hope. World leaders must condemn this brutal act, and call on others to forcefully condemn this despicable act of terrorism as well.

A 76-year-old former IDF general who blocked the Egyptian army’s advance in the crucial opening hours of the 1973 Yom Kippur War is now seeking to push Israel to embrace Cairo and other moderate Arab partners in order to bring peace.

Israel Policy Forum (IPF) strongly condemns today’s terror attack on a Tel Aviv Bus during morning rush hour that left 17 Israelis injured.  This brutal attack - and the appalling and despicable response by Hamas' leaders hailing the terror act as "brave" and "heroic" - should be resoundingly condemned by the international community. Israeli and Palestinian leaders who seek peace must work to calm tensions, not inflame them.

Israel Policy Forum echoes the statements of US Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, that the failed Palestinian bid to gain recognition for statehood by the United Nations Security Council “should serve as a wake-up call to catalyze all interested parties to take constructive, responsible steps to achieve a two-state solution, which remains the only way to bring an end to the ongoing cycle of violence and suffering.”

Israel Policy Forum (IPF) is horrified by today's terror attack in a synagogue in Jerusalem, targeting innocents in their place of worship. Leaders across the globe must forcefully condemn this despicable act of hatred and violence.

IPF condemns today’s terror attack in Jerusalem, which took the life of Jaddan Assad, a 38 year-old Border Patrol officer, who leaves behind his pregnant wife and 3 year-old son.   The repeated occurrences of automobiles being used as terror weapons against Israeli civilians and soldiers, and the growing tensions in Jerusalem, are deeply concerning.

Israel Policy Forum (IPF) welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. We remain guarded in our optimism that the halt to the fighting will be sustained.  It is sad that Hamas refused and violated numerous prior Egyptian ceasefire attempts which closely resemble the current arrangement.  The injuries, loss of life and trauma incurred by Israelis and Palestinians after 50 days of fighting have been incredibly tragic.
