We will not stand for this

Israel Policy Forum is shocked and appalled by the column published in the Atlanta Jewish Times by its owner and publisher Andrew Adler calling for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “to give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States policy includes its helping the Jewish state obl

Amb. Daniel C. Kurtzer on 'Reviving the Peace Process' (TRANSCRIPT)

In an ideal world, if we were writing this up as a scenario we would say let’s put this all on hold, and everyone stays away happily and nothing changes for the worse, and we pick it up perhaps when everyone is stronger. But status quos are not status quos and people know that. They either get better – or more commonly – they actually get worse because they are left neglected. I fear that this status quo, over the next 10 or 11 months if there isn’t some very significant policy activity, will deteriorate into violence.

Israel's Security

A New Year's Resolution for 2012

View from Jerusalem By Roberta Fahn Schoffman. For liberal-minded Jews in Israel, and kindred spirits observing closely from afar, the country seems to be rapidly heading for disaster. The assault on democracy and the growing discrimination against women are disturbing trends, but so too are the paralyses on the peace front, the mounting strength of the right wing and the violence of the “Tag Mechir" (“price tag”) that targets Palestinians and left-wing Israelis, adding fear and brutality to the mix.

Obama is Clearly on Israel's 'Side'

President, Israel Policy Forum

Jackson Diehl’s March 28 op-ed column, “Man in the middle,” was perplexing given President Obama’s record of support for Israel, particularly in the midst of the upheaval that has engulfed Israel’s neighborhood.

Responding to Violence with a New U.S. Strategy

This week has seen renewed bloodshed with a horrific terrorist bombing at a bus station in Jerusalem, a flurry of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip into Israel, and Israeli counter strikes in Gaza. Tit-for-tat violence in the region is back—even if it never was really gone. The violence indicates that while revolutionary protests are calling for change across the broader Middle East, the status quo in Israel-Palestine appears as entrenched as ever.

Conference Call: Improving the Prospects for Obama's Success

Dr. Steven L. Spiegel will moderate a discussion between two of the Roundtable's participants, Former Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh and Brig. Gen. (ret.) Shlomo Brom on Monday.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

Hamas Rocket Test; Hezbollah Arms Shipment Seized

In a series of military related events in Gaza and the Mediterranean Sea, it is apparent that Hamas and Hezbollah are stockpiling and testing weapons systems. On Tuesday, Israel’s head of military intelligence, Gen. Amos Yadlin, revealed that Hamas, under the cover of stormy weather, recently tested a rocket capable of firing 37 miles. This test means that Hamas now has the means to be able to strike Tel-Aviv and its surroundings.
