We will not stand for this

Israel Policy Forum is shocked and appalled by the column published in the Atlanta Jewish Times by its owner and publisher Andrew Adler calling for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “to give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States policy includes its helping the Jewish state obl

Amb. Daniel C. Kurtzer on 'Reviving the Peace Process' (TRANSCRIPT)

In an ideal world, if we were writing this up as a scenario we would say let’s put this all on hold, and everyone stays away happily and nothing changes for the worse, and we pick it up perhaps when everyone is stronger. But status quos are not status quos and people know that. They either get better – or more commonly – they actually get worse because they are left neglected. I fear that this status quo, over the next 10 or 11 months if there isn’t some very significant policy activity, will deteriorate into violence.

Peter Joseph

Peter Joseph is President of the Israel Policy Forum, a position he has held since September 1st, 2008. Previously, he served on the IPF executive committee and as Chairman of the National Board.

Mr. Joseph has been involved with the American Jewish community and the state of Israel for many years. His active role dates from his fellowship at the Wexner Heritage Foundation program for Jewish lay leadership in the early 90's. During that time, he joined his wife and colleagues to establish a Jewish Community Center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, which today serves as a resource for virtually all Jewish community needs: social, cultural, and educational. During a sabbatical year in Jerusalem, Joseph laid aside his professional work and focused on Jewish learning at the Melon Center of Hebrew University, the Hartman Institute, Hebrew Union College, the Pardes Yeshiva, and other places of scholarship. Mr. Joseph's aspirations for Israel, as a country at peace with its neighbors and secure within its borders, brought him to IPF.

Currently a Managing Director at Palladium Equity Partners, Mr. Joseph has spent over 20 years in the private equity industry. Prior to this, he was an investment banker at Quadrex Securities Group and an attorney specializing in corporate and securities law at Fried, Frank, Harris Shriver & Jacobson and at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Mr. Joseph currently serves on the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and is a trustee of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. He earned his B.A. from Cornell University in 1974 and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1977.
